What is the Difference?

  • Tithe

Tithe is an Old Testament word that literally means 10%. The New Testament giving model does not command that you tithe any percentage, but the discipline of regular giving to support the work of the local church is a great practice to not let finances rule over you, keep your heart toward kingdom purposes (Matthew 6:21), and grow in generosity. We often use the word “tithe” to refer to this practice without referring to an expectation of percentage.

    Offering

Your offering is any amount that you choose to give to the church for whatever purpose. Offer your gifts freely and cheerfully to the Lord. As God has prospered you, set aside (1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 8:12). This can apply to your practice of regular giving, but it can also apply to any other giving as the Lord directs.

    Donations

Anything you donate to Antioch Bible Church (no matter which fund you designate the money to or how you refer to it) will be included in your Year-End-Giving-Statement. All donations are tax deductible.

  • The REACH (General) Fund is where all of our church expenses are covered. That includes facilities, staff compensation, ministry budgets, benevolence, and missions.

This is also a One-Fund that includes commitments toward the renovations of our new property and future home at 2215 Mangum Road.

Email our Operation Manager if you have any questions regarding Antioch budgets and spending.
