Holy Week Reading Plan
As a church family, we invite you to walk through Jesus’ final week prior to His resurrection in anticipation and preparation for our Easter celebration next Sunday. Please read the prayers in the plural, knowing that we are participating together in these prayers as a church family. The reflection time is both personal for application but corporate in that we invite you to share what the Lord speaks with someone else, perhaps a co-worker or unbelieving friend. Have a blessed Holy Week!
Opening Prayer:
Lord, as we pause in our day to read from Mark’s account of the week leading up to your death, burial and resurrection, would you speak to us and help us hear Your Word? Amen.
Daily Readings:
-
Mark 11:1-11
-
Mark 11:12-33
-
Mark 12:1-43
-
Mark 13:1-14:11
-
Mark 14:12-72
-
Mark 15:1-41
-
Mark 15:42-47
-
Mark 16:1-20
Personal Reflection:
Take a moment to reflect upon what you just read. What happened? Who was involved? What did Jesus say or do? How was it received? What would you have done if you were standing there? As you think about this story, what do you think Jesus wants you to know from it, now that He’s standing here with you? With whom can you share that? When?
Closing Prayer:
Lord, we thank You for your life, death, burial and resurrection. We thank you for Your gift of eternal life. Help us to shine with the light of Your love as we delight in Your will and walk in Your ways this day. Show us those who need to be cheered by Your Good News today, and help us to minister to them through prayer, care and sharing Your gospel with them. May we be bold witnesses of Your kingdom and Your salvation to all we encounter this day. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit. Amen.
